Food and Accommodation in and around the Dyfi Valley.
Sadly, I no longer get up to the area as regularly as I would wish, and hence any recommendations I might make will soon be out of date. I was last there, fleetingly, in May 2016, and at that stage the Wynnstay, my long-time favourite place to eat in Mach, was in the early stages of re-opening under new management, and although retaining the excellent kitchen services of chef Gareth Johns, was not doing meals on a Monday or Tuesday evening. I trust that this problem has since been rectified. I had a good vegetarian lunch sitting watching the world go by outside the Quarry Cafe in Maengwyn St., and had my evening meal at Glan yr Afon (The Riverside to you traditionalists) at Pennal. This was good, and I shall return.
I regularly use Tripadvisor on my travels around the country and, as long as you discount those entries which are clearly bogus, I find that it gives good general guidance .
